Redesigning how creators find, evaluate, and license music.
Context, challenge, direction
SoundMarket needed a clearer experience for finding and licensing music while supporting a growing ecosystem across marketing, browsing, playback, pricing, and track-level interactions. The design direction connected browsing, playback, evaluation, pricing, and conversion into one consistent experience.
A clear entry point for music creators.
The homepage introduces the catalog through a direct search action, then builds credibility around the artists, placements, and brands already connected to the platform.
Browse broadly, then narrow with intent.
The catalog supports open exploration, focused filtering, direct search, and continuous playback without sending creators into separate tools.
Make stems visible at the moment of evaluation.
Creators inspect a track's available components inside the browsing flow, then open a focused view when they need more detail or download access.
Move from track evaluation to licensing.
Track-level views keep metadata, playback, similar options, stems, and licensing information in one place so the decision remains easy to follow.
Use playlists as another route into the catalog.
Featured and curated playlists give creators a faster starting point when they know the mood or context they need, but not the exact track.
Follow the playlist journey.
The playlist system moves from collection browsing to a focused playlist, then offers adjacent collections without ending the session.
Explain pricing before asking for commitment.
A short homepage comparison introduces the plan structure. The full pricing page then exposes the detailed feature differences needed for a final decision.
Support the decision with proof and answers.
Recognition, direct answers, and a final creator-focused call to action complete the marketing journey without repeating the product screens above.
From redesign to live product.
The live redesign reached 1,000+ new users within 3 months, with $0 in paid advertising. The product has been live since December 2025.
Designing around a continuous listening journey.
This project reinforced the importance of treating music browsing, listening, evaluation, and licensing as one continuous experience. Each interaction needed to preserve context while helping creators move toward a confident licensing decision.
